Pirate protest at Forbes global corporate CEOs conference

A group of “anti-corporate pirates” protested outside a global corporate CEO’s conference organised by Forbes at the luxury Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on September 29, 2010. Corporate pirates were plundering and destroying the earth and exploiting the world’s majority, said Pirate Paul Benedek. “Them scurvy corporate dogs be giving us grassroots pirates a bad name, arrrgh!” More pics here.

Photo essay: Red shirt resurgence in Thailand

Facebook chat with Ooi a photographer at the September 19 Red Shirts rally at Ratchaprasong Intersection to mark the fourth anniversary of the last military coup and four months since the bloody military repression of the mass protest camp in this area:

Me: Wow! What a fantastic crowd your pics show!

Ooi: Thanks. I was amazed at the crowd yesterday.

Me: How many do you think?

Ooi: About 10,000 – 12,000. We calculate by using  sampling space. We work out how many people in one square metre and calculate the area.
